[ On wealth ]

I will not lie, I have always wanted to be rich, I want to have all the things I saw on TV when I was a child, I want to have nice furniture, a nice house, a big land and not have to worry about money any day in my life.

But lately I've been thinking, I want to be rich because I want to work in what I like, my field of work is underpaid, but it's such an important job that I don't mind it, I have the privilege that my parents, especially my mum, help me get by, and I live with them. I would like to be rich, so I don't to have worry about looking for another job and would be able to move on my own and help my parents with anything they need, so I could adopt any animal that needs shelter, so I could help my friends who still have debts due to pursuing higher education.

I also want to be rich so I could go out on a Wednesday at 10 am and not worry about work, so my mum could buy any book she wanted without checking the price, so I could buy hundreds of bags of food for animal refugees, so I could do volunteer work in the woman shelter every day, so I could have time to do my hobbies and not feel guilty about not being productive, so I could live and not worry about necessities.

I would like to be rich so I could study everything that I want in a higher education institution, but also I would like to be rich so all the knowledge I got by studying could be used without me worrying about getting a job that needs to be high paying.

But I don't to be rich if that means that I lose sight of what's important to me, I don't want to be rich if that means I stop having humanity, I don't want to be rich if that means I would lose my empathy for those who are not rich.

I'm aware that by many standards I'm already rich, my mum and I get along, both my parents did a master degree (I'll talk about the family cultural capital, that it's a topic I've hyperfixed for a while), I graduated from university, and I'm already planning a master, we own a house, and we have the means to get by. I'm not being greedy, I just want to live a life where all my loved ones don't have to worry about money, I want a country where anyone can access healthcare, own a house and have the means to get by.
